A journey through history & cultures initiates the latest creations from Carrera y Carrera

Renowned Spanish jeweller Carrera y Carrera creative team’s voyage south brought with it sounds. smells. and impressions: the magnitude of the Alhambra gardens. the orange trees of the Mezquita (Mosque) courtyards with their intoxicating scent of orange blossoms, the murmur of the fountaina. the reflection of colors from Moorish tiles in lhe sun. All of these elements return to find expression in gold and diamonds for the new collection from Carrera y Carrera.

This collection was born from looking south towards a fusion of cultures flooded with tight and shadow. mystery and fantasy. The silence and stillness within the thick walls of these palaces invited reflection and inspiration. A voyage through time, history and the imagination ended up in sketches on paper when it was time to create a jewel.

Just as the sun bathes each wall of the Nazari Palace, leaving its reflection on the colorful tiles of the fountains, so shine the diamonds of the pieces in the “Palacios del Sur" collection. These precious stones are an allegory of the fountains and streams that run throughout the Alhambra and the Mezquita and adorn the palace of seville.

Cordoba is born of silence. of the hushed whisper of centuries of history. lt ernerges from embossed walls, from filigrees and impossible vegetable forms. A Cordoba full of secrets that flow between the light beams of lattices gives life to the dimensions of the Cordoba ring.

These architectural jewels marry pure lines and intricacy in its earrings that emerge from a row of diamonds, in the dagger that transmits Moorish passions.

Granada is an oasis in the middle of the desert. a fountain of light and shadow where streams renew the gardens of the Alhambra and transport one to a universe full of voluptuous forms such as those in the ring Arcos de Granada (Arches of Granada) where onyx and diamonds take an unexpected turn of dazzling proportions. Or a universe where the architecture is built  with three rings, a bridge of three colors.diamonds, onyx, and the studded doors of a palace that keeps great secrets inside its thick scarlet-colored walls.

Sevilla, magical and fantastic. Light is trapped for hours in the colors and shine of fountains in the Andalusian courtyards, creating reflections and illusions. This light is captured in the Sevilla line, dazzing and perfect, where diamonds are faceted to underscore the magnificent craftsmanship of Carrera y Carrera.

Gold’s heroic history continues to inspire new generations — modern Italian design brilliance is always intrinsically lntieriinked with its rich history. The aft of the goldsmith has never been more vivid, as seen in the follow ing six key themes emerging from Gold Expressions 2011:

Statement Cuff -- the latest icorvic piece either as a single bangle or stacked in extravagant layers: Soft Gothic where architecturally inspved motifs create a new  aesthetic; intricate and Delicate -- as impact is created through tiny precious details. A totally fresh modern take on  jewellery, these pieces look as great on the beach as they do in the ballroom;

Opulent Organics — a retum to nature's shapes and forms. They brilliantly harness our rediscovered love of all the planet has to offer, mixing treasured gold with a rnyriad of precious gifts diamonds on the most delicate of flower; Bold Links fundamental to the jewellery wardrobe, the chain gets even more confident;i Sculptural Forms - where art becomes intimate. These pieces are something of a contradiction;  they magically combine yesterday and tomorrow, the ancient and the modern.

Roberto Ditri, president of Vicenza Fair said, "Once again in 2011, Vicenza Fair is proud to be a founding partner of Gold Expression as proof of our passion for promoting the culture of jewellery around the world.         Brazil is a place of incredible and uniquely precious "beauties." lt is the only country where minerals and gems exist in all the colours of the rainbow. Rainbows have always symbolized the alliance between heaven and earth. ln the ancient world it meant that (Arco) Iris, bearer of the gods. had delivered a message to mankind.

The gemstones presented themselves at this exclusive show in a sheer magical atmosphere: Precious emeralds glowed hopefully in green. rubellites gleamed red like sumptuous blood, brasilianties burned yellow like the sun, garnets glowed intensely orange, aquamarines shone promisingly blue like the sky and the seven oceans, amethysts wore purple, and the paraibas own the colour indigo.

Faberge' adds new creations to high Jewellery Collection

Faberge, the master jeweller of Russian origin, relaunched in September 2009 with the first High Jewellery Collection - Les Fabuleuses. This was after more than 90 years since the last masterpiece was created by the visionary artist Peter Carl Fabergé, jeweller to the Imperial Court of Russia. The first Fabergé boutique since 1917 has since been opened in Switzerland, and new pieces are now being added to the inaugural collection.

The new pieces follow the framework of the three themes of the collection: Les Fleurs de Fabergé, inspired by the famous Faberge flower studies; Les Fables de Fabergé inspired by Russian fairytales; and Les Fauves de Fabergé, inspired by the Ballets Russes and Fauvism art movement in the tum of the century Russia.

Chaemeuse Bleue bracelet - part of the Charmeuse series of jewels. conjuring up the daring vibrancy. the charm, passions and sensations of the Ballets Russes, and named for
the company's inspirational founder Diaghilev, whose nickname was Le Charmeur. The two encircling "arms' of the bangle are pave set, in Faberge's inimitable organic form and style, with a tonal mix of white diamonds.aquamarines, and moonstones. They embrace the spec tacular centre stone, a powder blue tourmaline of 45.32 carats.

Giant Magnolia ring - flowers are deeply embedded in Russian culture, a passion reflected in the recurring flower themes in P. C. Faberge’s work and now echoed in the contemporary Les Fleurs de Faberge collection.

D. Faberge's Tree root ring
This interpretation of the magnolia is alive with colour and movement, the curling, wayward petals of white and pink diamonds dancing around a pink sapphire of 4.52 carats, the curved shank of the ring swathed in brown diamonds, with a total of 1,080 stones.

Tree Root ring · the dark and knotty tree roots that grow organically around the central brown diamond of 13.20 carats tell of the profound love of nature so deeply embedded in the rich soil of Russian culture. Sculpted in yellow gold and in blackened silver, the roots that clamber over the shank and sides of the ring are set with rich earthy tones of brown diamonds, with flashes of orange and yellow diamonds . The centre stone comes with a GIA certificate, says Fabergé.

Scheherazade earrings — Fabergé understood that Russia was poised between East and West, giving Russian style its intriguing duality. Within the elegant framework, these earrings with matching pendant subtly incorporate an exotic influence, reminiscent of the Ballets Russes' dazzling, epoch·making performances of Scheherazade. Custom·cut plaques of lilac jasper, in the favorite Belle Epoque colour, are mounted in refined borders of gold and silver set with white and pink diamonds, and fine white pearls.

    E. Faberge's Nomade bracelet
Nomade bracelet - the artists, poets. and composers who enriched Fabergé's world were inspired by folkloric traditions and the complex roots of Russian civilisations. Prokofiev‘s orchestral Scythian suite, performed in 1916, told of the sun-rituals of the ancient Scythians, the warrior horsemen of the vast Russian Steppes. The tribal style of this bracelet contrasts the raw and savage with the exquisite and refined. Pebble like panels pave-set with 36.50 carats of diamonds of different sizes and cuts, are strung
on faceted gold beads.
