The intergem gemstone and jewellery trade fair held recently at Idar-Oberstein was a must attend event for those experts in the gemstone and jewelry world. Regional firms with a long tradition, as well as creative newcomers among the designers presented themselves together with all the big names from the gemstone industry, plus companies and individuals who had services to offer from which the sector might profit.
Over 5,000 sq m of spce at the new fair grounds in Idar-Oberstein provided the approprite frame for the 26th edition of the fair, where the exhibits are categorized individually.
At the most recent edition of the fair, visitors could find not only excellent gemstones and diamonds of highest clarity and purity, but for the first time ever in the world, the organizer said, there were pale naturally blue Akoya-pearls of over 9 mm presented to the public. The high expertise and skills of the jewellery industry is demonstrated in each and every object shown at the trade fair, which this year again chamed its visitors with its unique and special atmosphere.
The 26th Intergem was where visitors could obtain a concise impression of new developments, new stones, new occurrences and new trends or trade agreements. Lectures provided by leaders from the industry, panel discussions, as well as informal talks with experts from the gemstone sector again made it possible for visitors to gather valuable information and gain a new desire.
The 26th edition of the trade fair succeeded in creating an ideal balance between tradional firms, which have long established their reputation, and innovative newcomers. The resulting network of connections enabled visitors to find something interesting or fascinating, make new contacts, or expand and nurture already existing ones.
The fair's central location in the middle of Europe is reflected in the number of visitors. A considerable amount attended from neighbouring countries like the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland , and France, but there were also a sizeable number of visitors this time from the US and Japan.
